Chakram

Axel’s weapon “of choice” would be the chakram. The Indians, mainly the Sikhs, originally used them as a throwing weapon. Their flat, metal ring design allowed them to ride with the wind instead of being repelled by it. Axel’s chakrams, however, are obviously not the traditional kind. They are actually a rather complex design compared to the usual flat ring.

Axel’s chakram are fairly large, sport a red, black and silver look, and are equipped with large metal spikes. In fact, there are eight spikes circling around the base, which I do not believe is coincidence. Of course it might have looked the best with that many, but Axel is number eight of Organization XIII, so he may have eight spikes for that reason. Axel often covers his chakram with flames before he uses them, and the weapons appear from flames when he calls them into his hands as well. Axel uses his both for throwing and close-range combat, which I am sure probably was not the traditional sense for using them.
